Do you create your own reality?

Over the course of the last 30+ days I have been reading books recommended from Danelle Delgado, my coach and mentor.  Although several books have been read, the one I am currently reading/listening to on replay is Grant Cardone’s book The 10X Rule.  Over the next 31 days, I will be taking a deeper look at each of these qualities commonly found in successful people.  Here we go…Create your own reality.

  1. Create Your Own Reality
The successful are a lot like magicians; they don’t deal in other people’s realities. Instead, they are bent on creating a new reality for themselves that is different from the one that others accept. They aren’t interested in what other people deem possible or impossible; they only care about producing the things they dream are possible.

Early in my quest for personal and professional development I was taught the “I am” concept.  The idea that we are what we think and believe about ourselves and that we can change our reality by believing in ourselves and giving ourselves personal affirmations that are contrary to those we may currently believe.  The concept is something that I have played with over the years.  As I studied the Bible and became a Christian I took a further and deeper look at the “I AM” concept and how I create my own reality.

The truth is we are who we think we are.. Deep right?   I am a child of God and because that is my reality somethings I hold true.  Regardless of what your beliefs are they do not affect my reality.  Only my beliefs and my choices determine my reality.  It is an interesting concept.  When I first took the PSI Basic Seminar back in August of 1999, the facilitator told a story about how the founder of PSI would visualize his new car.  Every time he drove up to the gas station, he would immolate the beautiful, fancy car he wanted even though he was driving a car that was old and some what basic.  He would tell the attendant to fill up his luxury car and would ask the attendant to wash the windows of his luxury car.

His reality was what he created not what was on the outside or what people saw.  It is kind of an interesting concept to play with when creating success.  Because success can only be designed and determine by the person living that life.  I mean others can say they want a nice car, big house and a boat, which to some people that might define their idea of success, however the reality is for me, that does not define my success one bit.  My success is determined to me by the relationships and love I have in my life not my possessions.

Additionally playing with this concept of creating my own reality gives me the power not others.  Which truly success people don’t care what others think.  They move through life with little consideration as to the thoughts of others have about them.  There is a saying, I am not sure who said it, however, it goes like this…what you think about me is none of my business.

Tomorrow we will look at the concept of Commit First, Figure it out later.  I am excited about this one, because I think every married couple knows a thing about this trait.  More on that tomorrow.  In Marriage we definitely create our own reality.

Share about a time in your life where you created your own reality.

As I create my own reality, I still bounce my ideas, goals and dreams off of the people in my life.  I work with a coach because I know that it helps me stay focused on the reality I am creating. Even champions need help and run their business and life with a coach, a mentor, a program to move me forward.  Every professional athlete on the planet has at least one coach or mentor that helps them succeed.  Do you?  Check out WOW Advance, A 90 day mentoring program, Developed especially for men and women who want reach their goals in their business and life.  WOW, Where Women Rise…we develop, unite and celebrate mankind to ignite the global advancement of women.
